Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We hear about scams very often these days. Almost every day, someone falls into one. Millions of dollars have been lost to scammers, and the damage is not only financial, it is emotional, psychological, and even spiritual.
In the first place, the culprits are clearly the scammers. There is no doubt that they should be blamed and brought to justice.
At the same time, we should do our best to pray for and help the victims. I have heard of people who lost their entire life savings, even their homes and properties. The pain and shame they experience can be overwhelming. As believers, we must respond with compassion, not judgment.
How Can We Prevent This?
If we look closely at how scams work, we will notice a pattern:
Scammers usually instill either fear or greed into their victims.
They may frighten someone into acting quickly, thinking they will lose everything.
Or they may stir up greed, making someone believe they can gain more money easily.
Both fear and greed are powerful traps.
Today, let’s focus on greed.
Greed Is Not Biblical
Greed is not from God. It is one of the enemy’s tools. Satan knows that people can fall into the desire for “easy money” and “quick rewards.”
Yes, we believe in the Lord’s provision, but we must not believe in “free lunch” or shortcuts that promise wealth without wisdom or effort.
God provides, but scams deceive.
What Should We Do When Faced With Fear or Greed?
The next time you encounter a situation that triggers fear or greed, pause and do the following:
Pray for the Lord’s wisdom, discernment, and protection.
Examine and establish the facts carefully.
Do not rely on emotions or pressure.Seek expert advice or consult the authorities.
Talk to trusted people, not strangers.Step back and allow the Lord to lead and guide.
God often speaks in peace, not panic.Do not jump into hasty decisions.
Scammers thrive on urgency — but wisdom takes time.
May the Lord protect you and your family, grant you discernment, and keep you safe from the snares of the enemy.
Stay alert, stay prayerful, and stay grounded in God’s truth.
Blessings always.
