Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I hope this message finds you well. I recently had the incredible opportunity to attend the annual conference of Compass Financial Ministry in Orlando, and I left feeling profoundly inspired by the dedication of those who serve in ministry.

What struck me most was the commitment of every staff member, from the CEO to the vice-presidents, all of whom are “self-funded.”

They have not only taken pay cuts to serve the Lord full-time but also actively seek their own sponsors to cover their expenses and livelihood. This level of sacrifice and dedication is truly commendable.

A Modern Reflection of Sacrifice

Their commitment reminds me so much of Paul and the apostles. Just as they devoted their lives to spreading the message of Jesus, these disciples are going all out to fulfill their calling. Their selflessness is a powerful testament to faith in action, a living example that challenges us all.

Lessons Learned

There are many lessons we can draw from this experience:

  • Commitment: True service often requires sacrifice. Are we willing to give our time, resources, or even comfort for a greater purpose?

  • Faith: Trusting in God’s provision can lead us on paths we never imagined.

  • Community: Supporting one another through sponsorships or encouragement can amplify our collective impact.

A Personal Reflection

This brings me to a crucial question: Are you serving the Lord too? Perhaps there’s an area in your life where you feel called to step up, whether through volunteering, financial support, or simply sharing your gifts with others.

Let’s take inspiration from those who have dedicated themselves fully and consider how we can contribute our own talents and resources for His glory.

Thank you for taking a moment to reflect with me today. Together, let’s explore ways we can deepen our service and commitment!

Blessings,

David Poh
