Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I recently came across a survey that gave me pause: 67% of high-net-worth individuals fear that the wealth they pass down will not last a generation.
On the surface, this is a practical concern about stewardship and legacy. But as I reflected more deeply, I realized this is also a matter of faith, a faith issue that speaks to our trust in God’s provision for our children and the generations to come.
Wealth and Worry, Where’s Our Faith?
For believers, the anxiety over whether our children will have “enough” reveals a deeper question: Do we truly believe that the Lord provides?
Scripture assures us that God cares for His people far beyond what money can secure.
While it’s wise to plan and provide responsibly, ultimate security comes not from bank accounts or inheritance but from trusting in God’s faithfulness.
Honoring Achievements, and Seeing Brokenness
I want to be clear: I deeply respect the achievements of high-net-worth individuals and am continually inspired by their philanthropic efforts.
Many are using their resources to make meaningful change in the world. Yet, this survey also highlights a brokenness, a gap between abundance and assurance, between what we have and what we trust.
A World in Need, Perspective Matters
Every year, thousands of children die from drinking unclean water, a tragedy solvable with resources many already possess.
This reality puts into perspective our concerns about whether tens or hundreds of millions passed down will be “enough.”
What if our greatest legacy was not measured by how long wealth lasts within our families but by how much good it does beyond them?
A Call to Renewed Trust and Purpose
Let’s challenge ourselves, and each other to place our trust where it belongs: in God’s hands. Let us use whatever resources He has entrusted us with not only for generational security but for generational impact, both within our families and throughout the world.
