Dear Brothers and Sisters,
This week, we dive into a profound topic that resonates deeply with many of us – our relationship with God when it comes to financial stewardship.
It’s essential to reflect on what truly drives us to be good stewards of the resources entrusted to us by the Lord.
What Motivates Your Stewardship?
Love: At the core of our giving should be a heart full of love for God and for others. When we give out of love, we reflect His generosity and compassion, embodying the very essence of His teachings.
Obedience: As followers, we are called to obey God's instructions about managing our resources. Obedience is not just about following rules; it’s about aligning our actions with our faith and values.
Duty vs. Relationship: Many may give or donate with the hope of receiving more blessings in return. While it’s true that God blesses those who are generous, our stewardship shouldn’t become a transactional exchange. Instead, it should stem from a genuine desire to serve Him and others.
A Shift in Perspective
It’s crucial for us to understand that financial stewardship is not merely about fulfilling an obligation; it is an opportunity to express our love for God and demonstrate how we want to care for His creation. By nurturing this relationship, we cultivate a spirit of generosity that honors Him in every action we take.
Reflecting on Our Intentions
As you consider your financial decisions this week, ask yourself:
Am I giving out of love and obedience?
How can I better align my financial stewardship with my faith?
In what ways can I serve others without expecting anything in return?
Let’s strive together to embrace a mindset where giving is driven by love rather than obligation or expectation.
By doing so, we honor not only ourselves but also the One who entrusted these resources into our care.
Thank you for being part of this journey towards deeper understanding and commitment in your stewardship!
Blessings,
David Poh
